Close Quarter Systems - Filipino Kyusho

Learn a practical exciting Martial Art in a friendly relaxed environment in the heart of South Wales. Close Quarter Systems is a blend of many of the world's most efficient Martial Arts, taught by an instructor with 40 years of experience of self defence.

So how is the art taught?

Close Quarter Systems is exactly that. It is taught by a series of interlocking flow drills that are Filipino weapon techniques in origin. The drills cover kicking, punching as well as trapping and grappling ranges. Once the basic attack and defensive drills have been developed grabs, locks and counter locking are added to the flow. In a real situation going to the ground can have catastrophic consequences but it inevitably happens to the best trained, most prepared person. For this reason anti grappling techniques are added into the mix.

Statement

Close Quarter Systems is taught on a one to one or small group basis. It is centred round principals rather than hundreds of techniques. These principals are shared by many Martial Arts making the system flexible and adaptable for anyone who wishes to learn a realistic self-protection program. For 40 years I have trained in karate, jujitsu Jeet kun do and Wing Tsun. I have attended seminars and had private tuition with many of the world's great instructors. I currently have private tuition from Master Angelo Baldissone of the Filipino Kyusho Association. Master Angelo is himself a student of Grand Master Rene Tongson of the Abaniko Tres Puntas classical Arnis system.

Lessons in the Close Quarter System are personal and informal, no equipment is necessary. The lessons progress at the speed and intensity the student requires. Because you are in constant contact with an instructor progression in the system can be amazingly fast and enjoyable.
